The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

The present petition is filed seeking directions to Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural) for taking action on the complaint filed by the petitioner.

The grievance is that no action is being taken on the complaint rather petitioner and his family members are being called to the Women Cell.

Learned State counsel appearing on advance notice submits that parwana was issued to the petitioner calling him for investigation of the matter but he is not making himself available. It is further submitted that no FIR could be registered as the complaint could not be investigated due to non-cooperative attitude of the petitioner. He further states that the matter is pending with Deputy Superintendent of Police, Investigation, Amritsar (Rural).

CRM-M-33300-2020 -2Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is ready to co-operate in the investigation of the complaint. In order to cut short the controversy, let the petitioner appear in the office of DSP (Investigation), Amritsar (Rural) on 29th October, 2020 at 11.00 AM and would make himself available as and when required for the investigation purpose. However, it is clarified that the police officials will not use the said right only for the harassment of the petitioner.

Let, the investigation be completed by the DSP (Investigation), Amritsar (Rural) in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.
