Versus

Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh and others

...Respondent(s)

CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE G.S.SANDHAWALIA

Present:

Mr. Rakesh Gupta, Advocate, for the petitioner.

G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The present writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant the benefits of completion of 4, 9 and 14 years increments to the petitioner. Counsel for the petitioner submits that he was appointed in the year 1999 as a Sweeper at Samana, Patiala and has been working under the control of respondent no. 2. On his completion of 25 years of service, he had represented to the said respondent that only the 8 year's service benefit has been provided and the other benefits were due. Counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied if a time bound direction is issued to the respondents to decide the representation dated 01.05.2015 (Annexure P-9) wherein, he has made the claims of the assured career progression scheme.

In view of the limited relief sought, this Court does not feel necessary to call upon the respondents to file reply. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to take into consideration the representation dated 01.05.2015 (Annexure P-9) sent by the petitioner and decide the same within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. Needless to say that in case the relief is to be denied, the order should contain reasons.
