Seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents No.2 to 5 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.6 to 9, the petitioners have come up before this Court under Article 226 of Constitution of India r/w 482 CrPC.

Status Report by way of affidavit filed by State counsel has already been placed on record. Para no.7 of status report reads as follows: "7. That none of the petitioner was ever called to the Police station or CIA staff as alleged during the course of investigation nor the private respondents have nothing to do with the registration of FIR against said Kaushalya. As far as the Respondent no.7 is concerned, she was posted as SHO, P.S. City Malout at the time of investigation and submitted challan against accused Kaushlya therefore proceedings against respondent no.7 are being attended with malice."
