Seeking issuance of appropriate directions to respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for grant of parole for 08 weeks under Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, the petitioner has come up before this Court under Article 226/227 of Constitution of India r/w 528 BNSS/ 482 CrPC. 2.

Counsel for the petitioner confines his prayer to the extent of deciding the application of the petitioner (Annexure P-2) in a time bound manner as the minor son of the petitioner is extremely critical.

Notice served upon the official respondent through State counsel. The nature of order which this Court proposes to pass, there is no necessity of calling any response from the State.

State counsel submits that they would take a decision on the same within a period of three months.

In view of prayer made by counsel for the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the application of the petitioner dated 20.03.2026 (Annexure P-2) on or before 30.05.2026.
