RAMESHWAR SINGH MALIK, J Feeling aggrieved against the alleged inaction on the part of respondent authorities, petitioners have approached this court by way of instant petition, under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, at the very outset,fairly states that although the petitioners are seeking only a writ in the nature of Mandamus, yet because of inadvertent mistake on their part, they could not approach the competent authority, by moving an appropriate representation before filing the present writ petition. He further submits that given an opportunity, petitioners shall approach the competent authority i.e. respondent no.2 within a period of four weeks from today, by moving an appropriate representation and respondent GREESH SAHNI 2015.01.09 11:18 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP No.210 of 2015 no.2 may be directed to consider and decide the same at an early date, within a reasonable time.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, lest it should prejudice the rights of either of the parties, Director General of Police, Haryana, Sector 6, Panchkula-respondent no.2 is directed that if the petitioners approach him by moving an appropriate representation within a period of four weeks from today, he shall consider and decide the same at an early date, by passing an appropriate order, strictly in accordance with law, but in any case within a period of three months from the date of receipt of representation from the petitioners. With the abovesaid observations made and directions issued, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
