**** RITU BAHRI , J. (Oral) Petitioner was enrolled as a Constable under respondent No. 4 on 21.12.2004. A regular departmental enquiry was initiated against him on 11.01.2012 for absence from duty from 13.09.2011 to 22.03.2012 and charges levelled against him stood proved and petitioner was held guilty of the charge and was issued a show cause notice dated 02.05.2012 proposing punishment of dismissal from service. The petitioner submitted his reply but respondent No. 4 vide order dated 23.06.2012 dismissed the petitioner from service. An appeal as well as revision filed against the impugned orders were also dismissed and now the petitioner has submitted a detailed mercy petition dated 13.01.2014 (P-8) before respondent No. 1 but no action has been taken till date.

C.W.P No. 21031 of 2015 -2petitioner will be satisfied, if directions are issued to respondent No. 1 to decide the mercy petition, referred to above. In view of above, without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 1 to consider and decide the mercy petition dated 13.01.2014 (P-8) of the petitioner by passing a speaking order expeditiously, in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
