Hon'ble Mr.Justice Jaswant Singh Present:- Mr.Pawan Kumar,Senior Advocate assisted by Mr.Rozer Kumar Aggarwal,Advocate for the petitioner Jaswant Singh,J,(Oral).

Petitioner had competed for appointment against 200 posts of Lecturers in English advertised by the Department of School Education vide advertisement No./October 2006. The result of the selected candidates concededly was declared in December 2006(P-2) and appointments were made soon thereafter in early 2007.

Petitioner by filing the present writ petition, based on a reply dated 25.1.2018 to the legal notice, has invoked the writ jurisdiction for quashing the appointment of Smt.Narinder Kaur, respondent no.4 as Lecturer in English on the ground that respondent no.4 was appointed inspite of the fact that her name did not figure in the merit list. Petitioner further prays for a writ of mandamus for offering appointment to her on the ground that as per stated criteria her merit is more than that of Smt.Narinder Kaur.
