The petitioner claims that he has got a right to operate his buses against permit No. 265/R/97 dated 23.5.1997. Through the instant writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the State Transport Commissioner, Punjab exercising the powers of Regional Transport Authority to consider the request of the petitioner and issue timing in the time table, enabling the petitioner to operate his bus service.

The petitioner appears to have sent a legal notice dated 20.9.2016 to Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Patiala, with a copy to State Transport Commissioner, Punjab.

Notice of motion. On asking of the Court, notice has been accepted by Ms. Anu Pal, AAG, Punjab. Copy given. Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will be satisfied at this stage, in a case direction is issued to respondent No.3 , Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Patiala to consider the claim of the petitioner.
