On 13.07.2023, following order was passed by this Court:- "The petitioner through the instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue passport. Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner was issued passport No. J1366237 on 30.04.2010 which was valid upto 29.04.2020. The petitioner on 15.07.2021 applied for renewal of the passport. The petitioner has clean antecedents still respondents have closed file of the petitioner.

Mr. Amit Sharma, counsel for Union of India submits that petitioner may be directed to appear before the passport authority alongwith documents which would redress the grievance of the petitioner.

In view of statement of learned Counsel for Union of India, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to petitioner to appear before passport authority on 28.08.2023 alongwith all requisite original documents. The passport authority thereafter shall do the needful within six weeks.
