The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India with a prayer for issuance of an appropriate writ or order in the nature of certiorari for quashing the impugned final result dated 16.02.2026 (Annexure P-8) to the extent it excludes the petitioners from the select list for the post of Assistant Professor (College Cadre)-History. Further praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents to include the petitioners in the select list and recommend/appoint them on the post of Assistant Professor (History) and subsequently give all benefits to the petitioners including seniority and other benefits. At the very outset, learned counsel for respondent No.3 submits that the claim of the petitioners cannot be considered against the General Category, as they had availed relaxation at the stage of the screening test. It is further contended that the issue involved in the present writ petition is squarely covered by the judgment rendered by very this Court in CWP38944-2025, Kartik Saini versus State of Haryana and others, decided on 17.02.2026.

The case was called twice; however, despite the matter having been taken up on both occasions, none appeared on behalf of the petitioners to prosecute the present writ petition. It appears that the petitioners are no longer interested in pursuing the present proceedings. Consequently, the present writ petition is dismissed for want of prosecution. 4.

Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
