In deference to the order dated 24.09.2021, Mr. Shiva Prasad, Principal Secretary, Department of Transport, Punjab, has joined the proceedings through video conference. An affidavit of the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Ferozepur, has been filed wherein it has been stated that out of 12383 applications received for the grant of route permits, 9583 applications have already been disposed of. Still, more than 2500 applications are pending for the last more than one year. 2.

The Principal Secretary assures the Court that all the applications including that of the petitioners shall be disposed of within a period of six weeks from today.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, all these writ petitions are disposed of. The respondent-State shall remain bound by the stand taken by the Principal Secretary of the department.
