Petitioner filed instant writ petition seeking direction to respondent State to frame policy/guidelines for making appointments/absorption/redesignation in the office of Advocate General,Punjab and to evolve a criteria to regularise officers working in the said department.
Vide order dated 18.10.2012 the petition was admitted and ordered to be listed for hearing within one year. None has put in appearance on behalf of petitioner. Learned State counsel at the time of hearing states that Hon'ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No.3194/2016 titled State of Punjab v Brijeshwar Singh Chahal and another, decided on Rajinder Parshad Joshi 2017.05.10 15:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP 4153/2012 2 30.3.2016 has settled the matter once for all by directing the respondent State to frame proper guidelines in the light of observations in the said judgment. It is further stated that in compliance of the decision of Hon'ble the Supreme Court, the State Government has promulgated enactment. Thus, it is submitted that the instant writ petition has become infructuous.
In view of the above, the instant writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous.
