The petitioner prays for grant of pre-arrest bail in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 63 dated 30.04.2020, registered under Section 61/78 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 and Section 188, 369 & 270 IPC and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, at Police Station Nehainwala, District Bathinda.

As per the case of the prosecution, Angrej Singh and Iqbal Singh were apprehended with two trucks with 494 and 492 boxes of illegal liquor.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner is sought to be indicted as an accused on the statement of his co-accused which is not admissible in the evidence.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has fairly admitted that the petitioner's father is a liquor contractor having a liquor vend in the area near the border of states of Punjab and Haryana.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, no ground is made out to grant the concession of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner. Hence, the present petition is dismissed.
