Present:
Mr. Bikramjeet Singh Jatana, Advocate for the petitioners. Mr. Sandeep Singh Deol, DAG, Punjab *** Harsimran Singh Sethi, J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed by the petitioners stating that they have threat to their live and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 10 and, therefore, a direction be issued to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect them from the said threat at the hands of respondents No.4 to 10. As per the averments made in the petition, petitioner No.1 is already married though his divorce proceedings are going on and the petitioner No.2, who is also major in age, intends to marry petitioner No.1, after the petitioner No.1 gets a divorce. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that private respondents, who are the family members of petitioner No.2 are against the same and, therefore, they are threatening the petitioners and, thus, the life and liberty of the petitioners is under threat at the hands of the said private respondents.

CRWP-8563 of 2020 -2the petitioners have already approached the police authorities with regard to the said grievance by filing a representation dated 14.10.2020 (Annexure P3), which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioners will be satisfied, at this stage, in case, a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide the said representation by passing an appropriate speaking order.

Mr. Sandeep Singh Deol, DAG, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State of Punjab.
Learned State counsel submits that the respondent-State has no objection to decide the representation dated 14.10.2020 (Annexure P-3) moved by the petitioners in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.
In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioners, respondent No.2 is directed to decide representation dated 14.10.2020 (Annexure P-3) by passing an appropriate speaking order within a period of one month from today.
The writ petition stands disposed of.
