The prayer in the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.6 and 7. 2.

Reply dated 24.05.2026 by way of an affidavit of Suknpal Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, NDPS, District Kapurthala has been filed on behalf of respondent-State by the learned State counsel and the same is taken on record.

The present petition is disposed of with the directions to the DGP, Punjab to constitute an SIT to look into the allegations and counterallegations and file an appropriate report in accordance with law. 4.

All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, stand disposed of.
