(Oral) The prayer in the present petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of the directions to the respondents to consider and decide the parole case of the petitioner, which is pending with the respondents and to release the petitioner for eight weeks parole to enable him to meet his family members and to look after household affairs in accordance with his entitlement under Section 3(1)(d) of the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 1962 and Amended Act, 201516. The learned counsel for the petitioner while referring to Page 4 of the petition contends that respondent No.4-The Superintendent, New District Jail, Nabha initiated and recommended the parole case and the same is pending before the District Magistrate, Patiala-respondent No.3. In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with the directions to respondent No.3 i.e. the District Magistrate, Patiala, to decide upon the prayer of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from today by passing a speaking order in accordance with law and communicate the same to the petitioner forthwith.
