The present contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 25.05.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-11400-2023.

This Court had issued the following directions in CWP-114002023, vide its order dated 25.05.2023:- "4.

Finding it to be a fair request, present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to the respondents to decide the claim of the petitioners raised vide legal notice dated 20.06.2022 (Annexure P-13) in the light of Jashandeep Singh's case supra (Annexure P-16) within the time period as prayed for by the learned State counsel."

In compliance of the order dated 25.05.2023 passed by this

-2Court in CWP-11400-2023, reply by way of affidavit dated 03.10.2023 of Sh. Gaurav Yadav, IPS, Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh, has been filed on behalf of the respondent before the Registry. The same is taken on record. The relevant portion of the said compliance report is reproduced as under:- "3.

That order dated 25.05.2023 (Annexure P-1) passed by this Hon'ble Court has been duly complied with by the respondent by passing a detailed Speaking Order dated 14.08.2023 (Annexure R-1). The claim of the petitioners as set out by them through their legal notice dated 20.06.2023, pertains to grant the seniority, pay fixation and notional consequential benefits from the date when the other category candidates out of the same advertisement, were appointed as Constables has been duly considered by recording detailed reasons as set out in the Speaking Order dated 14.08.2023 (Annexure R-1), in which it has been decided that the petitioners Constable Jashandeep Singh No.988/Fazilka, Constable Harcharan Singh No. 166/Fazilka and Constable Harwinder Singh No.

318/Mansa are entitled for the grant of notional seniority for pay protection only from the date when other category candidates out of the same advertisement were appointed as Constable in the department. However, they shall not be entitled for deemed date benefit of pay and arrears on the principle of "No work No pay". It is further submitted that the said speaking order dated 14.08.2023 has been passed on the similar lines as was passed in the case passed in CWP No.169 of 2023 filed by Jashandeep Singh No. 988/Fazilaka and CWP No.1755 of 2023 filed by Harcharan Singh No. 166/Fazilaka Versus State of Punjab."

Learned counsel for the respondent submits that in compliance of the order dated 25.05.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-11400-2023, a speaking order dated 14.08.2023 has been passed by the respondent. A copy

-3thereof has been supplied to the learned counsel for the petitioners, who does not dispute the same.

In view of the above, since order dated 25.05.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-11400-2023, has already been complied with, therefore, the present contempt is purged and rule stands discharged. 6.
