State of Punjab and another .............Respondent CORAM: HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE JASWANT SINGH Present:- Mr.Pardeep Singh Rana,Advocate for the petitioner Jaswant Singh,J.(Oral) Petitioner claims to have retired from the Indian Army from the post of Subedar Major in the year 2000 and is now resident of Village Kokari Buttran, Tehsil and District Moga. By filing this writ petition he is seeking a direction to the respondent-State for considering his name for the post of Numberdar in his own Patti in the village.
It is averred that there are four Pattis in the village and except for his Patti which has a population of more than 550 people, there are separate Numberdars for separate Pattis. It is submitted that a representation to Deputy Commissioner,Moga in that regard has already been made which has not been decided till now. After hearing counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the opinion that no case for giving any direction is made out. CWP 2158/2015 the authorities to provide sufficient number of Headman for every estate. It is conceded that a Patti is not a separate estate. Therefore, it is apparent that no legal right of the petitioner has been violated or denied by any omission on the part of the respondents and hence no case for mandamus is made out.
