(Oral) Petitioner is seeking direction to the respondent to consider him eligible for the post of Sub-Inspector as per the Punjab Police Rules, 1934 and advertisement No.8/2015 dated 19.07.2015 (Annexure P-1). At the very outset, learned State counsel has placed on record copy of letter dated 29.02.2016, in which, it has been stated that the petitioner has been considered eligible provisionally for the post of Sub-Inspector against Advt. No.8/2015 dated 19.07.2015. However, the similar controversy has already been settled by this Court in CWP No.20523 of 2015, vide order dated 03.11.2015. In view of above fact that the case of petitioner has already been considered by the respondent(s) as per above judgment of this Court, the present writ petition is disposed of, as having become infructuous.
