This Public Interest Litigation pending since 2019 raising the alleged public cause that Punjab Building Bye Laws and fire safety norms are not being followed by the coaching institutes which are functional in the cities of Ludhiana and Jalandhar.

Reply has been filed by the State of Punjab in the year 2023 stating inter-alia that instructions have already been issued to all the Commissioner(s) of Municipal Corporations and Regional Deputy Directors, Urban Local Bodies in the State of Punjab to ensure adherence to safety and municipal norms.

Since this Public Interest Litigation is pending since 2019, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the petition with liberty to file a properly constituted petition on arising of fresh cause of action. 4.
