The prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant 16 years' promotional scale to the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that in this regard a legal notice dated 27.04.2021 (Annexure P-4) has been sent to the respondents, however, neither any response has been received nor any decision has been taken qua the same. Learned counsel for the petitioner would further contend that at this stage he limits his prayer and would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.2 to take a decision on the legal notice dated 27.04.2021 (Annexure P-4) in a time-bound manner. In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2-Deputy Chief Engineer, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited - to take a decision on the legal notice dated 27.04.2021 (Annexure P-4) expeditiously, in accordance with law, and in any case within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. Disposed off accordingly.
