The petitioners have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 5 not to harass them unnecessarily solely on the ground that Malkiat Singh, husband of petitioner No.1-Harpreet Kaur, is alleged to be involved in FIR No.115, dated 30.6.2022, Police Station Dinanagar, District Gurdaspur, under Sections 21(c) and 29 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Harpreet S. Multani, AAG, Punjab, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

Learned State counsel has informed that the petitioners are not involved in FIR No.115, dated 30.6.2022 and that they will not be unnecessarily harassed.

In view of the aforestated position, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioners are required to be associated with any inquiry or any information is to be elicited from them in connection with FIR No.115, dated 30.6.2022, then provisions of Section 160 Cr.P.C. shall be duly complied with.
