...

TEJINDER SINGH DHINDSA, J.(ORAL) Petitioner, who was serving on the post of Law Officer under the Department of Local Government, State of Punjab, filed the instant petition assailing the action of the respondent authorities in having denied to him the benefit of extension in service beyond the age of superannuation.

Petition had come up for preliminary hearing before this Court on 04.08.2017 and while issuing notice of motion it had been directed that the petitioner would not be relieved of his services as even though extension in service had not been granted but inspite of having attained the age of superannuation on 31.07.2017 he had not been relieved and had continued to hold office.

CWP No.17352 of 2017 -2During the course of arguments it has gone uncontroverted that by virtue of the said order petitioner has already enjoyed a tenure in excess of two years of extension.

In view of the above, nothing would survive in the instant writ petition.

Disposed of as infructuous.
