(Oral) The petitioners are claimed to have filed petition under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 on 18.03.2009 for re-determination of compensation for their acquired land. It is further averred that meanwhile this Court has further enhanced the compensation in RFA No.3161 of 2009 (Jasmer Singh versus State of Punjab, decided on 01.06.2016 (P-3) but the petitioners' application-cum-petition filed under Section 28-A of the 1894 Act is still kept under the carpet by Land Acquisition Collector-respondent No.2.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners, we are of the considered view that if the petition filed by the petitioners under Section 28-A of the 1894 Act is still pending before the Land Acquisition Collector, the same deserves to be decided expeditiously. The writ petition is thus disposed of without expressing any views on merits, with a direction to the Land Acquisition Collector-respondent No.2 to ascertain the correct facts and if such petition is still lying with him, let the same be decided in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of Mohinder Kumar Kamboj 2016.10.19 14:12 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
