G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioners challenge the order dated 14.08.2013 (Annexure P-1) passed by respondent no. 3 whereby, the services of the petitioners have been dispensed with.

It is submitted that against the said order, a joint appeal had been filed before the Commissioner, Division Jalandhar since at that point of time, he was the competent appellate authority. It is submitted that in view of the notification dated 07.10.2014, all ETT teachers were got merged into the Education Department who were earlier working in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats and, therefore, the appeals have now been transferred to respondent no. 2 vide letter dated 05.03.2015. At the outset, counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer to the expeditious disposal of the appeal which is now stated to be pending before respondent no. 2. Counsel submits that in spite of reminders dated 03.06.2015 (Annexure P-4), the appeal has not been decided. Notice of motion.

CWP No. 21 of 2016 Mr. R.S. Sidhu, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. Copy of the writ petition has been supplied to him in Court. Keeping in view the limited relief sought and without commenting on the merits of the case, this Court is of the opinion that there is no need for the respondents to file reply. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to decide the appeal dated 19.07.2014 (Annexure P-3) expeditiously within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order in accordance with law after giving necessary opportunity of hearing to the petitioners or their authorized representative. 07.01.2016 (G.S.
