SUDHIR SINGH, J. (ORAL) Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus to respondents No.3 and 4 to grant parole to the petitioner for a period of 02 months. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that for redressal of his grievance, the petitioner had moved a representation dated 15.06.2024 (Annexure P-1) followed by a reminder dated 27.06.2024 (Annexure P-2), but no action has been taken on the same till date.

Vide order dated 22.07.2024, State was directed to file counter affidavit to the pleadings made in the present petition. 4.

Today, on resumed hearing, learned State counsel, in course of hearing, has tendered a short reply by way of affidavit dated 31.07.2024 on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3, which is taken on record. It is stated in the said short reply that the parole case of the petitioner for 08 weeks has already been MAHAVIR SINGH 2024.08.05 14:53 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/ judgment

CRWP-6442-2024 (O&M) forwarded to the competent authority i.e., District Magistrate, Jalandhar (respondent No.4) vide letter dated 18.07.2024 (Annexure R-2) for consideration and appropriate orders.

In view of the aforesaid, competent authority concerned is directed to pass a final order on the case of the petitioner, within a period of 02 weeks from the date of receipt or production of this order. 6.

With the aforesaid observations/ directions, the present petition is disposed of.
