Petitioner prays for consideration of his case for promotion as Assistant Municipal Engineer w.e.f. 07.11.2014 i.e., the date when his juniors are alleged to have been promoted. It is submitted that representation dated 11.07.2015 (Annexure P5) has been submitted to the department but to no avail. It is, thus, prayed that respondent No.2 be directed to decide the said representation expeditiously and necessary benefit be afforded to the petitioner. Keeping in view the limited prayer made on behalf of the petitioner, the facts and circumstances of the case but without expressing any opinion on the merit of the petitioner's claim, present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide representation, Annexure P5 by passing a speaking order thereon in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
