Through the present petition the petitioners seek protection of their life and liberty. The case set up by the petitioners is that on 15.12.2004 petitioner No.1 got married to Mangal Singh; from such marriage two children namely Armaan aged 13 years and Amandeep aged 11 years were born; on 01.02.2019 she sought and got panchayati divorce from Mangal Singh; thereafter petitioner No.1 started living with petitioner No.2; respondents No.4 to 6 who are related to petitioner No.1 have started to threaten the petitioners with dire consequences including their elimination and on 06.10.2019 the petitioners made a representation to respondent No.2 requesting him to protect their life and liberty but to no avail.

Without commenting upon the merits of the above allegations especially the validity of the divorce between petitioner No.1 and Mangal RAVINDER SINGH 2020.10.30 13:38 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

-2CRWP No.8806 of 2020 Singh as also the legality of the relationship between the petitioners, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 06.10.2019 (Annexure P-4) made by the petitioners and to forthwith take action as is deemed fit in accordance with law to ensure that no bodily harm comes to them. It is clarified that the aforesaid direction would not preclude the State from taking any action against the petitioners in case they are found to have violated any provision of law.
