(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus seeking release of detenue Harpreet Kaur-wife of the petitioner, who is alleged to be in illegal custody of respondents No. 5 to 16. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the marriage of the petitioner was performed with Harpreet Kaur on 24.8.2019, which was registered on 25.9.2019. He further submits that the detenue was taken away by his brother to convince the family but thereafter the deneue has not join the company of his husband i.e. petitioner-Jagtar Singh. Vide order dated 21.12.2020, directions were issued to produce detenue Harpreet Kaur through video conferencing. CRWP No. 8731 of 2020 -2Today, learned counsel for the private respondents has produced the detenue through video conferencing. During interaction with this Court, the detenue has specifically stated that she is happily residing with her parents and does not intend to join the company of her husband Jagtar Singh. Keeping in view the above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that she does not want to press the present petition and the same may be disposed of as such.
