*** Harsimran Singh Sethi, J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking protection to their life and liberty at the hands of the private respondents. As per the averments made in the petition, both the petitioners are major in age and have decided to marry each other.

Learned counsel for the petitioners argues that though, the petitioners have not performed marriage so far but, are living in a live-inrelationship, which is being objected to by the family of petitioner No.1. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have apprehension that their life and liberty are in danger at the hands of private respondents and, therefore, a prayer has been made that protection may be extended to them.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have submitted a representation dated 12.10.2020 (Annexure P-3) with respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, District Panipat seeking protection to their life and liberty and the petitioners will be satisfied, at this AARTI SHARMA 2020.10.29 12:06 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-8849 of 2020 -2stage, in case a direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide the said representation in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.

Notice of motion to respondent Nos.1 to 3 only. Ms. Rajni Gupta, Addl. A.G. Haryana, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of State of Haryana respondent Nos.1 to 3.

Learned State counsel raises no objection for deciding the representation dated 12.10.2020 (Annexure P-3) submitted by the petitioners with respondent No.2 in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.

Without making any observation on the merits of the case, a direction is issued to respondent No.2 to take appropriate decision on the representation, which the petitioners alleged to have made on 12.10.2020 (Annexure P-3), expressing apprehension about danger to their life and liberty at the hands of private respondents within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. In case any merit is found in the representation, the appropriate action will be taken by respondent No.2 to ensure that no harm is caused to the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of the private respondents.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
