This petition has been filed for issuance of writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent-department to grant the benefit of old pension scheme to the petitioner.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from Mr. Balbir Singh, Sr. Asstt., submits that the necessary relief has been granted to the petitioner and formal order thereon shall be passed within two weeks and communicated to the petitioner. 3.

In view of this, learned counsel for the petitioner prays for disposal of the present petition as having been rendered infructuous with liberty to revive the same, in case need arises.
