Mr. M.S. Sachdev, Advocate for the petitioner. * * * * S.J. VAZIFDAR, A.C.J. (ORAL) Petitioner has challenged an auction proposed by the Punjab Wakf Board for agricultural area and residential and commercial purposes. The petitioners contend that they are lessees of the property, which is sought to be auctioned and that the lease deed has not been cancelled.

The petitioners are not interested in the auction. The petitioners' rights, if any, cannot be affected adversely merely on account of the property being auctioned. The petitioners always have a right to adopt proceedings, if they desire for the purpose of protecting their rights in respect of the said property. Needless to add that the dispossession of the petitioner can only be by due process of law. Disposed of.
