The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking interest on delayed payment of General Provident Fund (in short 'GPF').

The petitioner retired on 31.05.2020. He was paid GPF on 18.03.2021. The respondent is claiming that the petitioner submitted papers with respect to his claim of GPF on 24.09.2020, thus, there was delay of four months on the part of the petitioner. The authorities processed the paper and within shortest possible time payment of GPF was made to the petitioner.

There was no representation on behalf of petitioner on 12.10.2022 and even today there is no representation on behalf of petitioner.

The petition is confined to interest on delayed payment of GPF. There is a very small delay in making the payment of GPF. 5.

In the wake of above, this Court is of the considered opinion that the instant petition deserves to be dismissed and accordingly dismissed.

Liberty is granted to petitioner to move appropriate application within three months from today, if cause survives 7.
