The instant petition has been filed for issuance of direction to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondents.

It is contended that the petitioners are major and have solemnized their marriage on 24.10.2020 against the wishes of the private respondents who have been threatening them with dire consequences. Soon after their marriage, the petitioners submitted a representation dated 24.10.2020 (Annexure P5) to the Superintendent of Police, Hisar, for redressal of their grievance but no action has been taken thereon so far. Learned counsel submits that the petitioners would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents for taking a decision on their representation (Annexure P-5).

CRWP-8836-2020 [ 2 ] On the asking of the court, Mr. Parveen Kumar Aggarwal, DAG, Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of the State. Keeping in view the limited prayer addressed by the petitioners, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Hisar (respondent No.2) to look into the representation dated 24.10.2020 (Annexure P5) of the petitioners and take appropriate action keeping in view the alleged threat perception, if any.

It is, however, made clear that this order shall have no effect on the validity of the alleged marriage of the petitioners and neither will any other civil or criminal proceedings initiated against the petitioners be barred due to this order.
