(ORAL) This petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for a direction to the respondent - State of Haryana to immediately initiate the process of making admissions in the D.EI.Ed. Course for the session 2021-2022.

It is submitted that inspite of the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2014 and the decision of the Supreme Court rendered in the cases of Maa Vaishno Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya Vs State of Uttar Pradesh and others (2013) 2 SCC 617 and College of Professional Education and others Vs State of Uttar Pradesh and others (2013) 2 SCC 721, wherein schedule for making admissions has been made mandatory, and totally ignoring the fact that the other States inspite of the pandemic situation in the country have initiated the process of admission, the State of Haryana has not done so.

Mr. Deepak Balyan, learned Additional Advocate General, Haryana, on instructions from Mr. Rishi Goel, Director, State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Gurugram, submits that the authorities have already taken the necessary steps to initiate the process. He has placed before this Court a letter dated 17.09.2021 issued by the Directorate of Elementary Education to the Director, SCERT, Gurugram, directing him to AMODH SHARMA 2021.09.22 15:27 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-18787-2021 (O&M) immediately initiate the admission process and also calling for his explanation for the delay. The said letter is taken on record and marked as Annexure 'X'. Learned State counsel has also placed on record the time schedule for making admissions in the D.EI.Ed. Course which are proposed to commence from 01.10.2021 and are to be completed by 06.11.2021. The schedule also notifies that regular/online 1st year classes would commence from 25.10.2021. The said schedule is also taken on record and marked as Annexure 'Y'.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that in view of the aforesaid steps taken by the respondent-authorities, nothing further survives for adjudication in the present petition. He, however, submits that the respondent-authorities be directed to ensure compliance of the time schedule. Learned State counsel submits that the respondent-authorities being conscious of their responsibility shall ensure that admissions are completed as per schedule and the academic classes start on the date notified therein.

In view of the aforesaid submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the statement made by learned State counsel, the petition is disposed of in terms thereof.
