The present petition has been filed claiming that the acquisition proceedings lapsed in view of provisions of Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, as the petitioners are still in possession of the acquired land though the amount of compensation has been received. It is claimed in the petition that notifications under Sections 4 and 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 were issued on 09.08.1977 (Annexure P-2) and 07.03.1978 (Annexure P-3), respectively. The award was announced by the Land Acquisition Collector on 22.06.1978 (Annexure P-4). Learned counsel for the State on instructions from Sh. Ashok Kumar, Patwari, office of Land Acquisition Officer, Rohtak, submitted that the petitioners have pleaded acquisition of Khasra Nos. 1520/139. CWP No. 22566 of 2015 (O&M) -2aforesaid khasra number does not find mentioned in the notifications as referred to by the petitioners in the writ petition, hence has not been acquired.

Considering the aforesaid submissions made by learned counsel for the State, in our opinion, the grievance of the petitioners does not survive any more.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
