Prayer in this writ petition is for directing the respondents to release the service-cum-retirement benefits due to the petitioners, who were employees of the Municipal Council, Abohar working with Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board. They have retired from the respective posts on different dates. However, their retiral benefits have not been released despite representation dated 10.08.2015 (Annexure P1). It is, thus, prayed that respondent No.4 be directed to decide legal notice served upon them by the petitioners in a time bound manner and release the retiral benefits due to them. CWP No.22570 of 2015 [2] opinion on the merit of the petitioners' claim, present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 to decide legal notice, Annexure P1 by passing a speaking order in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order. In case, petitioners are found entitled to the reitral benefits, same be released to them within a period of six weeks thereafter.
