(Oral) Prayer in present writ petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents - University to convene the meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee as per office order dated 16.08.2016 (Annexure P-10) wherein direction were issued to convene the meetings of Departmental Promotion Committee at least once in every month.

Mr. Parmod Kumar Saharan-petitioner is present in Court today and placed on record a copy of order dated 23.07.2019 wherein the last Departmental Promotion Committee was held on 22.10.2012 and in this regard also submitted representations dated 26.05.2017 (Annexure P-8) and 28.11.2017 (Annexure P-9). He further submits that at this stage, would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.1 to consider and decide aforementioned representations within some specified time. CWP No.19723 of 2019 {2} In view of statement made by the petitioner and without going into merit of case or commenting thereon, present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 to decide the representations dated 26.05.2017 (Annexure P-8) and 28.11.2017 (Annexure P-9) after affording opportunity of personal hearing to petitioner by passing a well reasoned and speaking order within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

In case, representation is not decided within aforementioned specified time, there shall be costs of Rs.25,000/- to be paid by the concerned officer to the petitioner.
