**** Manjari Nehru Kaul, J.(Oral) Prayer in the instant petition is for issuance of appropriate directions to respondents No.1 to 3 to take appropriate legal action on the complaint/representation dated 20.03.2023 (Annexure P-1) made by the petitioner to the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana. Learned counsel submits that despite representation dated 20.03.2023 (Annexure P-1) having been made to respondent No.2 qua the fraud and cheating committed by the private respondents, the authorities concerned had failed to initiate any action against the them. Learned counsel contends that since the private respondents were involved in the commission of cognizable offences, the official respondents were under a legal obligation to proceed against them under the provisions of law. A prayer has been made by the learned counsel that he would be satisfied if the respondent No.2 is directed to look into his representation dated 20.03.2023 (Annexure P-1) and take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

On the asking of the Court, Mr Amit Rana, Sr. DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. In the wake of the limited prayer of the petitioner, the respondent No.2 i.e. Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, is directed to look into his grievance and take appropriate action, if any required, under the provisions of law. However, if respondent No.2 does not find the commission of any cognizable offence as alleged or any substance in the allegations levelled in the representation dated 20.03.2023 (Annexure P-1), then the petitioner shall be duly informed as per the parameters laid down by the Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari v.
