The present contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 28.02.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-4400-2017.

This Court had issued the following directions in CWP-44002017, vide its order dated 28.02.2023:- "In view of the aforesaid authoritatively pronouncement, the impugned action in withholding the amount of gratuity to the extent of Rs.1,55,451/- is illegal and the impugned order dated 12.11.2010 to the extent of withholding the aforesaid amount is hereby quashed. The petitioner is held entitled for the said amount along with interest @ 6% per annum from the date when the amount

-2was withheld till final realization of the same. Let the amount along with interest be paid within a period of two months, failing which the interest components shall be paid @ 12% per month till final realization of the amount."

In compliance of the order dated 28.02.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-4400-2017, compliance affidavit dated 15.09.2025 of Sh. Ashok Kumar Meena, IAS, Managing Director, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited, Panchkula, along with annexures, has been filed on behalf of respondent No.1 before the Registry. The same is taken on record. The relevant portion of the said compliance affidavit is reproduced as under:- "That it is submitted that in compliance of this Hon'ble Court's order dated 28.02.2023 passed in CWP No.4400 of 2017, the withheld amount of Rs.1,55,451 was released to the Petitioner vide cheque No.720914 dated 17.07.2023 (Annexure R-2) and interest amount has been released to the Petitioner in three instalments, i.e.: (i) Rs.1,19,667 paid to the Petitioner vide cheque no. 720980 dated 17.08.2023 (Annexure R-3), (ii) Rs.1,17,368 was released to Petitioner vide cheque no.960483 dated 12.04.2024 (Annexure R-5), and (iii) Rs.1,227 was released to Petitioner vide cheque no. 200942 dated 19.08.2025 (Annexure R-7)."

Learned senior counsel for the respondents contends that order dated 28.02.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-4400-2017 has now been complied with. This fact is not disputed by learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view of the above, since order dated 28.02.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-4400-2017, has already been complied with, therefore, the present contempt is purged and rule stands discharged. 6.
