The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of Award dated 06.02.2026 (Annexure P-1) whereby Ld. Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services), Rohtak (for short 'PLA') has rejected his application filed under Section 22C of the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987 (for short '1987 Act').

The petitioner purchased a plot measuring 225 Sq. Yards in Mouja Sunaira Kalan, Tehsil & District Rohtak which was later on acquired by HUDA vide Award No.11 for development of Sector-21, Rohtak. He filed an application under Section 22C of 1987 Act before PLA seeking compensation of Rs.1,75,000/- as per policy of State Government. PLA vide Award dated 06.02.2026 dismissed the application as non-maintainable.

Learned counsel for petitioner failed to point out that PLA has jurisdiction to entertain disputes relating to compensation payable for acquisition of land, however, submits that authority may be directed to consider his claim for compensation.

In the wake of statement of learned counsel for petitioner, the petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach authorities. This Court is sanguine that authorities would consider his claim in accordance with law.
