+  0 CRM- -2025 This application has been filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 for placing on record the copy of the original affidavit of the complainant qua the compromise as Annexure P-8.

Main case &  The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short-'BNSS') for quashing of FIR No. 70 dated 30.05.2023 under Sections 307, 323, 34 IPC and %'(%)  registered at Police Station Zira, District Ferozepur (Annexure P-1) and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise JANKI BHATT 2025.07.25 12:34 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court Chandigarh (Annexure P-2).

Notice of motion.

Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. Learned State counsel states that no other FIR has been registered against the petitioners and they have no known criminal antecedents. 4.

   # Advocate appears and accepts notice on behalf of respondent No. 2. She confirms the factum of the compromise having been effected between the parties and states that she has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question.

Even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 6.

Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No. 70 dated 30.05.2023 under Sections 307, 323, 34 IPC and %'(%) registered at Police Station Zira, District Ferozepur and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise shall stand quashed qua the petitioners subject to payment of Rs.5,000/- as costs to be paid to the High Court Legal Services Committee 7.

Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
