The prayer in the present petition is for quashing the order dated 06.07.2018, vide which only 36 posts were filled out of the 48 posts advertised, with further directions of appointment of petitioners to the post of Homeopathy Medical Officers.

Learned counsel submits that the petitioners, shown at merit Nos.11 and 12 in the final list, having secured 172.27 and 172.00 marks, were in the zone of consideration for the 13 posts advertised under the General category and therefore are entitled to be selected as Homeopathic Medical Officers. However, as per impugned order dated 06.07.2018, appointment letters were issued to only 36 candidates against the total of 48 posts, resulting in their non-selection.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from Ms. Meenakshi, Senior Assistant, PPSC, submits that the claim of the petitioners would be considered and in case they fall within the zone of the consideration as per their merit, shall be granted appointment.
