The present petition has been filed under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of regular bail to the petitioner pending trial in case FIR No.209 dated 07.12.2022 (Annexure P-1) under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of NDPS Act registered at Police Station Nawanshahar, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab. Learned counsel for the petitioner after vehemently arguing on the merits of the case prays for withdrawal of the present petition. However, prays that appropriate directions be issued to the trial Court to expedite the trial.

Learned State counsel re-asserts that the trial is proceeding in accordance with law and 05 witnesses out of 17 witnesses have been examined and there is no procrastination by the prosecution in the trial. 4.
