(Oral) The petitioner claims that he is entitled to preferential treatment for the leasing-out Gram Panchayat land to him for the reasons that he has been in cultivating possession of the land since the time of his fore-fathers from the year 1958 to 2014.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

Though the Gram Panchayat land can be leasedout strictly in accordance with the rules framed under the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 as applicable to the State of Haryana, however, if there is any Government Policy in conformity with the said Act [statedly dated 06.09.2013 (P-7)], we dispose of this writ petition without expressing any views on merits with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider the claim of the petitioner in accordance with such policy and take an appropriate decision MOHINDER KUMAR 2016.02.08 11:39 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh
