State of Punjab and others
...Respondents
CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE G.S.SANDHAWALIA
Present:
Mr. Gagan Pradeep S. Bal, Advocate for the petitioner. **** G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J, (Oral) The petitioner seeks the relief of promotion upto the rank of ASI, Sub Inspector, and Inspector with effect from various dates on the ground that the persons junior to him have been promoted by the Officers Committee.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was recruited as Constable on 11.9.1993 in the sports quota and was allocated Belt No.1114 in District Faridkot and thereafter shifted to district Sri Mukatsar Sahib. He has represented time and again for his due promotions under the sports quota but no action is being taken. Counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent no.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 15.2.2014 (Annexure P/7) within a specified period. However, a perusal of the same would go on to show that same is not addressed to respondent no.2 but issued to the Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab.
Counsel submits that the petitioner will submit a detailed representation to respondent no.2 for consideration within four weeks from today.
Accordingly, without going into merits of the case and in view of the fact the petitioner has not submitted the representation to respondent no.2 for his grievance, the present writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach the respondent No.2 for necessary relief by filing appropriate representation within four weeks from today.
