The petitioners are seeking anticipatory bail in FIR No.153 dated 08.10.2020, under Sections 306 & 34 IPC, registered at Police Station Longowal, District Sangrur.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners are the parents of the accused Kuldeep Singh, who is stated to have married the deceased despite the subsistence of his previous marriage. He further contends that the allegations against the petitioners are general in nature. He also contends that there was no complaint or any other material which would indicate that the petitioners were harassing the deceased. He also contends that the allegations in the FIR would not, prima facie, constitute an offence under Section 306 IPC.

Status report in the form of an affidavit of ASP, Sunam is taken on record. Learned State counsel, upon instructions from ASI Ram Singh, contends that that the petitioner has joined the investigation. He also contends

CRM-M-34431-2020 that in view of the serious allegations against the petitioner, he is not entitled to concession of anticipatory bail.

This Court, by the order dated 29.10.2020, had directed the petitioners to appear before the Investigating Officer and join the investigation and in the event of his arrest, he was to be released on ad-interim bail to the satisfaction of the Investigating/Arresting Officer, subject to the conditions envisaged under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.

Heard.

In view of the submissions of learned counsel for the petitioner and the petitioner having joined investigation, the order dated 29.10.2020 granting interim bail to the petitioner is made absolute. However, petitioner shall abide by the conditions stipulated under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C. He shall also join investigation as and when called upon to do so.

The petition stands disposed of.
