Manoj Kumar 2016.08.12 16:08 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
IN THE HIGH COURT FOR THE STATES OF PUNJAB AND
HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH CWP No.23674 of 2015 Date of Order: 12.8.2016 Ravinder Kaur ....Petitioner
Versus
The State of Punjab and Ors.
....Respondents CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE JASWANT SINGH
Present:
Mr. Virender Chhibar, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Harkesh Manuja, Addl.A.G, Punjab.
JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner was working as a Lecturer (Biology) with the Department of Secondary Education, Government of Punjab since 23.3.1992. She is stated to have proceeded on sanctioned leave for six months w.e.f 01.7.2001 to Canada. Thereafter, leave was never extended and after absence of more than eleven and half years, she submitted her joining report on 14.5.2013. Since she was not permitted to resume her duties, present writ petition was filed seeking a writ of Mandamus.
It is evident that there is a serious misconduct and in fact abandonment of the service on the part of the petitioner. At the time of hearing, learned counsel prays for permission to withdraw the present petition as the petitioner has since been permitted to join her duties.
Dismissed as withdrawn.
