The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners. 2.

None had appeared on behalf of the petitioners on the last of hearing. The same is the position even today despite the case having been called twice. 3.

A perusal of the petition reveals that a representation dated 08.09.2021, Annexure P-2 has been submitted by the petitioners. The receipt of the said representation is annexed with this petition. 4.

On receipt of advance notice, Mr. H.S. Sulllar, learned Sr. DAG, Punjab, appears on behalf of the respondent-State and on instructions from ASI Nirmal Singh submits that the petitioners are not required in any case and has no objection for consideration of representation of the petitioners. 5.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the representation of the petitioners dated 08.09.2021, Annexure P-2 # & , " -  $ &#.

It is however, made clear that this order shall not preclude the authorities to proceed against the petitioners, in case, they are found involved in any other criminal proceedings, instituted/pending against them if there is some evidence that surfaces regarding their involvement in a cognizable offence, for which they may be required by the investigating agency.
