The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short 'BNSS') seeking issuance of directions to official respondents No.4 & 5 to take appropriate action on the complaint dated 18.05.2026 (Annexure P-5) against private respondents for mercilessly beating the petitioner and for committing blasphemy and forcibly removing his turban. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the petitioner was assaulted and humiliated by the Personal Assistant (P.A.) of a sitting Cabinet Minister by removing his turban. A video recording in a pen drive has been annexed by the petitioner with the paper book in

CRM-M-29523-2026 (O&M) -2support of his contentions. It is further contended that a complaint dated 18.05.2026 (Annexure P-5) in this regard had been moved to the authorities concerned, but no action has been taken on the said complaint. Learned counsel further submitted that the petitioner apprehends threat to his life and as such, prayed for directions to respondent No.4- to take necessary steps to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner. 3.

Mr. Anup Singh, AAG, Punjab put in appearance and accepted notice on behalf of respondent-State and submitted that in the present matter, a DDR has been registered and the matter is under investigation under the supervision of Investigating Officer namely, ASI Lakhwinder Singh.

Keeping in view the statement made on behalf of learned counsel for the State, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4- Senior Superintendent of Police, District Sri Muktsar Sahib, to take necessary action on the complaint dated 18.05.2026 (Annexure P-5) in accordance with law. It is also directed that the investigation of the present case be conducted under the supervision of Officer not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) concerned.

It is further directed that respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Sri Muktsar Sahib, shall assess the

CRM-M-29523-2026 (O&M) -3threat perception to the petitioner and after considering the same, he shall take appropriate action for protection of petitioner in accordance with law.
